My Turkish is a litte...nonexistent!

Anyways, regarding Turkey's accession to the European Union, I am not sure it will occur in the near future.

Within the EU, power is distributed by proportional representation. Therefore, since Turkey's population would be the second most populous, and the fastest growing, it could effectively control the Union in the future.

This has obviously worried the traditional Western countries.
